Your plan, and cancelling a subscription

Where your plan shows, how to change your card or cancel a subscription bought on the web or in the app, and what deleting your account needs first.

Verified against 1.0.0

Your plan, and anything you pay for, is kept with your DomiSol account. It is the same on the web, on Android and on iPhone, wherever you sign in.

Where your plan shows

Click the round avatar at the top right of the dashboard (Dashboard, My Scores, Hymnbooks or Support). The account menu opens with your name, your email and your plan: Free, 7-day Pass, Pro, Lifetime, Schools, or Personal if you bought it before it went off sale. On a computer the editor shows a paid plan beside its ⋯ menu, and the phone app shows your plan in Settings, under Plan & credits.

Plans, in the dashboard’s top bar, shows your plan too: a paid plan has its own card at the top of the page, with what it includes.

Change your card, or cancel

A subscription (Pro, or a Schools plan) is managed where you bought it. In the account menu, Manage subscription sits under your plan, and the same button is on your plan’s card on the Plans page. Both do the same thing. It is only there for a subscription: the 7-day Pass, Lifetime and Personal are paid once, so there is nothing to renew or cancel.

Bought on the web. Manage subscription first asks one short question: what didn’t work. Pick the answer that fits, add a few words if you like, and press Send and continue, or press Skip to go straight on without answering. Only changing your card? Skip is the quick way. What you write goes only to the person who makes DomiSol.

Either way, Polar’s page opens in a new tab, already signed in to your subscription: your card, your invoices and Cancel. Polar is the company that takes DomiSol’s payments. If it cannot find your subscription under the DomiSol account you are signed in to (say you paid while signed in to another one), Polar asks for the email you paid with and sends a code to it instead.

Bought in the App Store or Google Play. The store bills it, so it is changed or cancelled there, in your store account under Subscriptions. Manage subscription in the dashboard says so, because a web page cannot open the store for you:

  • On an iPhone or iPad: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions.
  • On Android: the Google Play app, then your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.

In the phone app, Settings → Plan & credits → Manage subscription opens the right page itself: the store’s subscriptions for one bought in the app, or Polar’s page, signed in as on the web, for one bought on the web. If you pay in both places, there is a row for each.

When you cancel, your plan stays until the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing in DomiSol cancels a subscription for you, and DomiSol never asks for your card: Polar and the stores keep it.

Deleting your account

Delete account is the last item in the account menu (in the phone app, at the foot of Settings). It removes your account, every score, your shared links and your uploads, and it cannot be undone.

If a subscription would still be charged, DomiSol does not delete the account, because deleting it would not stop the charges. The dialog says where to cancel instead, and nothing is deleted. Cancel first, then delete. A store can take up to two hours to tell DomiSol that a subscription was cancelled, so if you cancelled in the App Store or Google Play a moment ago, try again a little later.

Still stuck?

Open DomiSol and ask the built-in assistant — it can answer from this manual and act on the score you have open.
