What you get

A solfa editor built for the people who actually read solfa.

01

Solfa IS the editing mode

Type d r m f s l t and that's what you see, no staff-notation detour, no “convert to solfa” toggle. The data model is solfa, so movable-do transposition is one click.

02

Runs in your browser, nothing to install

No download, no setup, no licence. Works on Mac, Windows, Linux, Chromebook, and on your phone. Open a tab and start writing.

03

Free during beta

Every feature unlocked, editing, playback, SATB, PDF, sharing. No card, no trial timer. Free for everyone while we're in public beta.

04

Hear it instantly

Press space and the score plays back through your browser, each note highlighting as it sings. Fix a wrong note by ear before you print.

05

SATB in one click

Turn a melody into Soprano · Alto · Tenor · Bass and edit each voice independently. Built for choir directors arranging hymns.

06

Lyrics, PDF & share links

Type syllables under each note, export a print-ready PDF for Sunday, or drop a share URL in the choir WhatsApp, opens with no account.

Frequently asked

Solfa editor questions, answered.

Is there a free tonic solfa editor online?
Yes, DomiSol is a free, online tonic solfa editor that runs entirely in your browser. During public beta every feature is unlocked at no cost: solfa and jianpu editing, playback, SATB arranging, lyrics, PDF export, and share links.
Do I need to download or install any software?
No. DomiSol is web-based, there's nothing to download or install. It works in any modern browser on Mac, Windows, Linux, and Chromebook, so there's no version to update and no licence to manage.
Can I use the solfa editor on my phone?
Yes. DomiSol works in any mobile browser, with touch-friendly note entry, and you can add it to your home screen like an app. It's optimised to load fast on a low-end Android phone over 3G.
Can I export tonic solfa to PDF?
Yes, export any score to a print-ready A4 PDF in either tonic solfa or jianpu. Hand it out to your choir on Sunday morning; it's readable from row 12.
Can it convert sheet music or staff notation to solfa?
Yes. Snap or upload a photo or PDF of a printed, handwritten, or hymnbook score and DomiSol's image-to-score recognition returns an editable solfa (or jianpu) score. You can also import a MusicXML or MIDI file from MuseScore, Finale, Sibelius, or any DAW and DomiSol converts the staff notation to solfa or jianpu in your browser.
Does it support SATB four-part harmony?
Yes, convert a single melody into Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass with one click, then edit each voice independently. Lyrics align under every part.
Can the same editor write jianpu (numbered notation)?
Yes. DomiSol writes both tonic solfa and jianpu, and flips between them on any score with one click, the music stays the same, only the glyphs change. See the dedicated jianpu editor page for details.
