Keyboard shortcuts

DomiSol is built to be typed. A phrase is a word you type, not a series of clicks — most of the speed is in this table.

Writing notes

Enter	Insert a new note after the selected one
Backspace	Note → rest; press again on a rest to remove the time

The two worth memorising are _ and -. Flat is the underscore, rest is the hyphen. If you get a rest where you wanted a flat, that’s the mix-up.

Duration

Set the duration first; it sticks until you change it.

Pitch and octave

Key	Action
o	Cycle the input octave: middle → up → up-two → down → down-two
Shift+↑ / ↓	Move the selected note an octave
↑ / ↓	Move the selected note one scale step

↑/↓ moves by scale step, not semitone, so 4 becomes 5. With ⌘/Ctrl+A first, it shifts the whole piece — a quick way to try a melody higher for your sopranos.

On a phone

There are no shortcuts on a touch device — the pitch keyboard along the bottom does the same work, and the Shortcuts button is hidden there because it would only take up room. The tools panel’s tabs cover durations, accidentals and octaves.
