The first screen: your first score
What a new account sees first, on a phone, a computer and in the app: a note from the person who builds DomiSol, and one tap to a first score.
Verified against 1.0.0
The first time you open DomiSol with a new account, a short note comes up from Putu, who builds it, saying that a message from you reaches him. It comes up once. Under it are the ways to start.
On a phone
The note has one filled button, Start a blank score. It opens an empty score in the editor, ready to type into. Your first score walks through writing one.
Under the button are two more starts, written as text:
- Try a sample opens a finished piece in the editor, so you can press play and look around before writing anything. It is not in your library until you save a copy of it.
- Photo import ($6 Pass) opens the photo import. Photo import is for paying accounts, so for a new account it shows the credit packs and the 7-day Pass in place of the place to drop a file. Any of them opens it for good: see The 7-day Pass, Lifetime, Pro and page packs.
Message me is in the note, under Putu’s name. It opens Support, where you can write to him. The cross at the top right closes the note; on the dashboard it leaves you at Your first score in one tap, which offers the same starts.
If your account has already paid
When the account has paid for something (a Pass, a plan or a credit pack), the filled button is Photograph or upload a score instead, with Start a blank score and Try a sample under it. Press it and your phone asks where the page is: take a photo with the camera, or choose a photo or a PDF that is already on the phone. Which choices you see depends on the phone and its browser.
Choose the page and DomiSol opens the editor with the photo import already holding it. Check what kind of music it is (or leave it on Auto-detect) and press Recognize score. Reading a page uses credits, and the import says how many before you press: see the AI features.
If you close the camera or the file chooser without picking anything, the note stays where it was, and you can choose again or start another way.
In the DomiSol app
The app shows the same note the first time a new account opens it, with the same starts in the same order: Start a blank score, Try a sample, and Photo import ($6 Pass), which opens the scan sheet. There it says that photo import is for paying accounts, with See the Pass and credits, which opens the store. For an account that has paid, Photograph or upload a score comes first and opens the scan sheet, where you choose Take a photo or Choose from Photos. The app cannot open a PDF yet: send one from the web editor in a browser.
On a computer
On a computer the note’s button is Start composing, which starts a short tour of the editor. On a tablet, or in a narrow browser window, the note offers Blank score and Photo import ($6 Pass) instead, or Photograph a score and Blank score for an account that has paid.
When the note does not appear
The note waits for your next visit when your account was made while you were already looking at a score: on the scan page (dash.domisol.app/scan), or when you saved a score you wrote without an account. Your score comes first, and the note comes up the next time you open DomiSol in a new tab in that browser, as long as you have not signed out in between. If you have already seen it on another device, it does not come up again.
